Bruin softball drops two games in Seton series

WHITE SALMON — The Columbia High School softball team lost a two-game Trico League series to Seton Catholic, falling 9-3 on the road on April 21, then 13-2 at home on April 23.

In the first game, the Bruins (9-7, 7-4 Trico) got going early against the Cougars (12-2, 9-0 Trico), scoring a run in the second inning and two in the third to tie things up. However, CHS wouldn’t score for the rest of the game. Senior Halle Kock led the way at the plate, going 2 for 4 with an RBI and scoring one run.

In game two, Seton got out to an early lead and never let up. The Cougars scored five runs in the first inning and three in the fourth on the way to a 13-2 win in White Salmon. Junior Joella Posini led the way in batting for the Bruins, going 1 for 3 with an RBI.

This week, CHS has another two-game Trico series, this time against La Center High School. First, the Bruins face the Wildcats (7-7, 5-4 Trico) at 4:30 p.m. on April 28 on the road, then they have a 4 p.m. match-up on April 30 at home.
