WHITE SALMON — The Columbia High School boys soccer team went 1-0 last week, beating Stevenson High School, 14-0, on April 8 at Bruin Field.
The Bruins (6-1-1)Â started hot against the Bulldogs (0-8) and never let up, getting out to an 11-0 lead with 13 minutes to play in the first half. CHS would add one more goal before halftime.
The Bruins had two players score a hat-trick — Isaac Reynoso and Isaac Barron finished with three goals on the day. Quinn Harty, Manny Barajas and Ricardo Cortez finished with two goals apiece, while Anderson Hernandez and Estiven Hernandez each had a goal. Goalkeeper Juan Cazárez finished with one save.
This week, the Bruins will have two more home nonleague games against Kings Way Christian at 6 p.m. on April 13, and against Kalama High School at 6 p.m. on April 17.
Columbia enters the week with a 6-1 record and is tied with Fort Vancouver (also 6-1) in Trico League play. LaCenter is in third place at 5-1-2. Columbia’s lone loss was a 1-0 defeat on March 21 to La Center. The two teams play a rematch on April 29 in LaCenter.
