THE GORGE — Eleven 2026 local high school graduates were selected to play in the Oregon Class 1A boys and girls all-star basketball series June 12-13 at Pacific Crest Middle School in Bend.
For 10 of the players, it provided them with an opportunity to represent their school for the final time of their career as they each wore their team uniform for the last time. One player, Emma Patterson of Trout Lake, was selected for the all-star series, but she declined to participate in the event.
South Wasco County High graduate Jason Hul scored 18 points for the East All-Star team June 12 in a 112-100 loss to the West All-Star squad. Hull also scored 16 points in a June 13 112-94 loss to the West team. The East All-Stars were guided by South Wasco County High Redsides boys basketball Coach Jim Hull (Jason’s dad).
“It was fun at the all-star series in Bend, and it was great for this group of kids to play together for one last time,” said Jim Hull. “It was a great experience for them, and it was nice too for me to have an opportunity to coach Jason one more time and watch him do his thing out there on the basketball court.”
Jason Hull will continue his athletic career this fall when he attends Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND, as he will play on the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Trinity Lions men’s basketball team for Coach Jordan Nowell.
Other members of the 1A East All-Stars included Horizon Christian High grad Ben Chapman (who signed to play basketball at Pierce College), Lyle/Wishram High graduates Jack Thiemann and Carson Ramsay, and South Wasco County High grad Rowen Huff.
In the girls all-star series, five local 2026 graduated seniors competed in the two-games in Bend. Those included South Wasco County High graduates Jayda Iverson and Bailey Udey. Dufur High graduate Makayla Miller and Sherman High graduates Addie Smith and Alison Rolfe also played in the all-star games.
