Lyle’s Community Trails Committee will meet Wednesday, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Lyle Activity Center (the old Lyle School) to discuss draft trail planning maps for the Lyle Cherry Orchard property, owned by Friends of the Columbia Gorge, and adjacent Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) land. News from Jennifer Machado, the Lyle School District coordinator, (to Sara Sanderson): This year the Lyle School district has a couple of really cool things going on. It has initiated a calling system that will allow school representatives to call everyone that would like to be notified of events that may be happening at the schools (i.e. fundraising dinners, open houses, etc). If any community members would like to be added to the call list, they can either call the school or email their contact information to jennifer.machado@lyleschools.org. Also, they have launched a newly redesigned website at www.lyleschools.org .
