Letter to the editor: No on socialized pot

It has opened a can of worms and has made more problems to overcome. Here is an example of what happened in Washington. A person went to a party where they consumed brownies. Unbeknownst to them they were laced with marijuana. The person tested positive for marijuana and that made me think how do we protect our children? How do those of us who choose not to consume marijuana be assured that foods we eat won’t make us test positive on a drug screen our employer may require?

Liability is already expensive. Can groups have bake sales like they used to and be assured nothing was “slipped” into the baked goods.

Landlords are you going to start drug testing your tenants? You get my point. I am a drug screen collector by profession and also a nurse so I have seen the examples I have written about.

I would encourage you to vote against socialized marijuana in your state. It is ruining mine.
