Two patients at Mid-Columbia Center in The Dalles died of COVID-19 earlier this week, North Central Public Health District reported in a Dec. 23 press release. The first patient, who tested positive on Dec. 15, died Monday, Dec. 21. The second patient tested positive on Dec. 5 and on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Zim’s Brau Haus Restaurant and Sports Bar in The Dalles has temporarily closed their doors after an employee tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

Oregon Health Authority reported April 26 that Oregon’s 88th COVID-19 death is a 51-year-old man in Wasco County, who tested positive on April 19 and died on April 24 at Mid-Columbia Medical Center. He had underlying medical conditions.

To the editor: (Edited for length.) I would like to ask the voters of the Northern Wasco County Park and Recreation District to vote yes to construct a new swimming pool. I manage the pool in Goldendale and I have had the privilege to work with and get to know most of the staff and lifeguards at your swimming pool.
