Three Oregon City residents are all in the race to seize control of the Clackamas County-area swing seat held by state Rep. Annessa Hartman, the outgoing Democratic lawmaker who declined to run for reelection while battling cancer.

Independent Party of Oregon member and pharmacy owner Pat Hubbell, Republican former police officer and Realtor Adam Baker and Democratic West Linn high school teacher Michael Sugar are all vying for a seat in November to represent Oregon’s 40th House District. The swing district spans Clackamas County and includes parts of Gladstone, Oregon City, Jennings Lodge and Johnson City.
