KLICKITAT CO. — Polls closed at 8 p.m. Aug. 6 for Washington’s Primary Election; mailed ballots must be postmarked by 8 p.m. on election day to be counted.
Klickitat County Auditor Heather Jobe reported voter turnout at 29.47% of its registered 15,837 voters (results.vote.wa.gov/results/20240806/klickitat).
There were two local — and contested — offices on the ballot: Klickitat County Commissioner Districts 1 and 3. The following results are preliminary. Election results will be certified Aug. 20. Preliminary results as of Aug. 9 are:
County Commissioner District 1
Amanda Kitchings, 973 votes, 70%
Todd Andrews, 415 votes, 29.86%
Write-in, 2 votes, 0.14%
County Commissioner District 3
Ron Ihrig, 992 votes, 65.65%
Dan Christopher (incumbent), 504 votes, 33.36%
Write-in, 15 votes, 0.99%
Skamania County
Voter turnout was reported at 44.04% of the county’s 9,151 registered voters. Preliminary results as of Aug. 8 are as follows:

Brian Nichols, 796 votes, 66.22%
Mary Ellen Grode, 404 votes, 33.61%
County Commissioner District 2
Rob Farris, 418 votes, 29.99%
Mary Repar, 289 votes, 20.73%
Joshua Good, 256 votes, 18.36%
Forest Hofer, 190 votes, 13.63%
Greg Stafford, 94 votes, 6.74%
Dan Stevens, 82 votes, 5.88%
Phillip Watness, 64 votes, 4.59%
Write-in, 1 vote, 0.07%
