Scam — On Aug. 25 in Hood River, a scammer posing as a bank convinced a resident to deposit $16,000 of their money into an unknown account.

Sex crimes — On Aug. 25, Hood River police took a report of the rape and sexual abuse of a youth. A male suspect was later found, arrested, and lodged at NORCOR on charges of first-degree rape, sodomy, sex abuse, and coercion.
