The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Assault (one), attempted robbery (one), disorderly conduct (one), charge not logged (two), DUII (six), harassment (two), mischief (one), possession of controlled substance (one), probation detainer (one), reckless driving (one), unauthorized use of motor vehicle (one), warrant (seven).
Notable incidents
Eight burglary reports. Cascade Locks, cold burglary on Ehrck Hill Road, SE Frontage Road, Airport Drive, cold burglary on Eastside Road, Barrett Park. In one incident, Mid-Valley Elementary School reported a burglary on Aug. 20. In another incident, a deputy responded to burglary in progress near the 3600 block of Mud Alley Drive and made an arrest.
Five hit-and-runs logged. Locations were Midway Road, Wanapa Street, unknown, Cascade Locks and unspecified.
Four stolen vehicle reports. Locations were Woodworth Drive, Thomsen Road, Highway 30/35 Park and Ride, Tamarack Road.
Eight thefts. Locations were Tamanawas Falls Trailhead lot, Mitchell Point, Allen Road, Columbia Gorge Way, theft from vehicle, Royal Anne Drive and unspecified. In one incident, a county resident had the license plate stolen from their motorcycle.
A wing foil and a barge collided on the Columbia River, near buoy 36, on Aug. 3. A trooper responded at about 3:30 p.m.
Four search-and-rescues called. One on Mt. Hood, one for an injured hiker at Tamanawas Falls, one for a wildland firefighter having medical issues on a fire line, one for a 71-year-old with medical issues on Mt. Hood.
An unattended death on Country Club Road.
Three assaults reported.
On Aug. 6, a deputy took a report of a cold vehicle crash that resulted in a recovered stolen vehicle.
A county resident’s wallet was stolen from inside their vehicle on Highway 35.
A non-injury vehicle crash reported Aug. 9.
Two identity theft reports.
Investigation of a natural death in Cascade Locks.
A vehicle collision in Odell Aug. 11 caused minor injuries. Separately, a single-motorcycle crash on Highway 35, near milepost 62.9, resulted in injury. A deputy responded to a third injury crash on Highway 35, milepost 101.

Three non-injury vehicle crash reports. Locations were Tucker Road, Dee Highway, Tucker Road/Bradley Drive.
An arrest on charges of attempted robbery and disorderly conduct was logged on Cascade Avenue Aug. 18.
Two fraud reports.
A Cascade Avenue business reported forgery Aug. 21.
Found drug paraphernalia reported near the 2200 block of Highway 35.
A found firearm at the State Street courthouse was referred to detectives.
A deputy recovered two stolen vehicles near the 4000 block of Barnett Drive on Aug. 27.
A juvenile was cited for possession of marijuana.
Hood River Police, Aug. 25 - 31
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: disorderly conduct (one), DUII (four), theft (two).
Notable incidents
Five theft reports. Stolen chainsaw, shoplifting, cellphone taken from grocery store, theft of services and fishing equipment stolen from a vehicle in a hotel parking lot.
Four DUII arrests. In one incident, a non-resident person was arrested on charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and admitted to recent use of methamphetamine and cannabis. Citations were also issued for driving while suspended, driving uninsured, and failure to maintain safe distance from an emergency vehicle.
Three vehicle crashes, one with injuries. In one incident, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the Pacific/Woods Court intersection. Airbags deployed on one vehicle, and the driver was transported to an area hospital for injuries. In another incident, an officer responded to a truck that hit a communications line on Elliot Drive.
Two hit-and-run reports. Locations include the Walmart parking lot and Providence parking garage.
After four calls for service on the same evening, a resident was arrested and lodged at NORCOR on the charge of disorderly conduct.
A resident turned in old, unwanted ammunition for destruction.
A vehicle break-in was reported Aug. 30.
A found surfboard was reported Aug. 30.
The Dalles Police, Aug. 30 - Sept. 6
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: burglary (one), charge not logged (three), disorderly conduct (one), harassment (two), mischief (one), possession of cocaine (one), theft (one), trespass (one), violation of a conditional release (one), violation of protection order (one), unlawful entry into motor vehicle (one), warrant (four).
Notable incidents
A reporting party alleged that signs, mostly saying “TDHS are domestic terrorists,” had been posted on “almost every tree” on the left side of Sorosis Park Aug. 30. Parks and Rec was informed.
23 mental health calls.
A person was cited into municiple court for drinking in public, after a reporting party alleged the person through a glass vodka bottle at them and missed.
Four theft reports. Microwave and backpack, bike, shoplifting. In one incident, a person was arrested on charges of theft and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle after a reporting party found video of the theft.
Three burglary reports. Allegedly, a shop on Sixth Street was broken into, and 20-30 power tools stolen, the night of Aug. 29. Separately, a person was arrested for first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass, violation of a conditional release and violation of a protection order after being found asleep in an ex’s apartment. In a third incident, a reporting party on Tenth-Street was startled to find another person in some storage sheds. The intruder stole some property and left on a bike, leaving their phone behind.
31 animal calls. 4 welfare checks on pets in hot vehicles, attacks between dogs, dogs at large, missing dogs, barking dogs, deer. In one incident, someone asked for advice and help with their English Bulldog which had attacked two kids. In another, officers could not locate a pitbull that chased a parent and child on Thirteenth Street.
A physical fight between “about eight people” was reported on Second Street Aug. 31. Wasco County Sheriff’s Office also responded. The parties were separated and, according to logs, most just ran away.
Five vehicle crash reports. A reporting party stated the boat trailer detached from their truck and hit a parked truck on Tenth Street Aug. 31. Separately, a black e-bike clipped the taillight of a car backing out of a Sixth-Street lot. The cyclist was knocked off the bike and had a hand injury. In a third incident, a case number was taken for damage to city property on Court Street.

An officer recovered a bag of drugs from a Mt. Hood Street fuel station Aug. 31.
Two people were arrested after DUII investigations. In one incident, the driver of a big blue truck allegedly ran over a curb, damaging it. Later the blue truck returned, and the driver was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, fail to perform the duties of a driver, reckless driving and possession of cocaine. Another involved person was arrested on charges of unlawful possession/concealment of firearms and obliterating or changing ID marks on firearms, according to NORCOR logs. In the same incident, another person was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, fail to perform the duties of a driver, reckless driving and unlawful possession of cocaine.
An unattended death.
Fraudulent use of a credit card was reported.
A person was taken into custody on a police officer mental health hold, after their landlord called to report them lighting a fire on the sidewalk near their space.
A person was arrested and lodged on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief after a caller reported them allegedly throwing steel lids off city garbage cans.
A reporting party bought a gun on Sept. 3, from a person who said it belonged to their deceased husband. OSP contacted the reporting party, as the gun had actually been stolen locally.
The street sign at Richland Court/West Seventh was discovered knocked down, in the road.
A semi-truck jackknifed on Mt. Hood/Skyline, and caught on an embankment about 10 inches from a power line Sept. 5. PUD and a tow company also responded.
Wasco County Sheriff, Aug. 30 - Sept. 5
Notable incidents
Deputies logged 21 vehicle stops.
Two warrants logged. Spokane County Jail, West Sixth.
Three dogs and two assorted animals logged.

Eight vehicle crash logged. Highway 197, Chenowith Creek Road, S. Louisa Road/Dodson Road, Fish Camp Road, Chenowith Creek/Murray Drive, Highway 30/Adeline Way, Sevenmile Road, Court Street.
Two separate deaths logged, from Tygh Valley Road and Cherry Heights.
Four thefts logged. Saint Charles Avenue, Clear Lake Campground (two), Ridge Road.
A fraud logged from Sunflower Street.

Oregon State Police, Aug. 30, Sept. 6
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Driving while suspended or revoked (two), DUII (eleven), parole/probation violation (two), reckless driving (four), recklessly endangering another person (one), unlawful possession of a firearm (one).
Notable incidents
Troopers were unable to locate a reporting party’s pistol, forgotten at a rest area between Biggs Junction and The Dalles.
Four non-injury crashes. A red Peterbilt commercial truck with box trailer tried to change lanes on I-84, without seeing a blue Mazda which was in the same lane. The box trailer struck the Mazda, causing over $2,500 in damage, and its driver was warned for illegal lane change. Both vehicles were drivable. Separately, a commercial vehicle changed lanes into a Hyundai Sonata, pushing the Hyundai into the median. There was a language barrier, and the commercial vehicle driver left. A trooper stopped them later and helped them exchange information. In a third incident, the wheel came off a Chevy pickup and struck a Subaru Outback. Both were drivable after minor repairs to the pickup. In another incident, the mirror on a white Audi on I-84 clipped a semi-truck, but did not damage it. The Audi’s driver was later pulled over and cited.
11 DUII arrests. In one incident, a driver was reported for driving 25 to 45 mph in a 65 mph zone, not maintaining its lane and crashing into the guardrail multiple times. The driver was arrested on charge of DUII and reckless driving after an investigation. A breath test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.29%, almost four times the legal limit. Separately, a blue Subaru Forester rolled on US 30, blocking the highway. The driver, who failed to negotiate a curve, was transported by medics to an area hospital for treatment, cited and released for DUII and reckless driving. WCSO, MCFR and Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) assisted. In a third incident, medics transported the intoxicated driver of a blue Honda motorcycle after they crashed on I-84, later giving a blood alcohol content of 0.112%. In another incident, a trooper stopped a black Jeep for multiple traffic violations at Columbia and Seventh streets, Hood River, and arrested the driver on charges of DUII and unlawful possession of a concealed firearm in the glovebox.
A trooper responded to a vehicle fire, finding a car already engulfed in flames at DeMoss State Park Sept. 1. The driver saw smoke coming from behind the dashboard, pulled over safely, and arranged a tow after failing to stop the fire with a bottle of water.
An angler was cited for keeping two trout over 13 inches long on the Deschutes, near Sherars Falls, Sept. 1. The trout were seized for donation to a local food bank.
While checking anglers at Hood River Marina, a trooper cited one angler for unlawful take of a steelhead, which was seized and donated.
A thirteen-year-old angler was warned for unlawful take of a steelhead at Hood River Spit. The angler unsuccessfully tried to revive the fish after learning steelhead season was closed.
An injury crash. Investigation determined a westbound red Mitsubishi Endeavor crashed after a passenger grabbed the steering wheel and pulled it toward them, causing the car to hit the guardrail and roll. It stopped upside-down, blocking both lanes near milepost 49. Probable cause was found that the passenger was intoxicated. Both occupants were transported for treatment of injuries. Multiple charges were referred to the Hood River district attorney’s office. Cascade Locks Fire and EMS, Hood River County Sheriff’s Office and ODOT assisted.
