Save the butterflies — OSU Mid-Columbia Research and Extension Center in Hood River is seeking volunteers to help with rearing the endangered Taylor’s Checkerspot butterfly. Under the supervision of master’s student Kelley Asselin, volunteers will help feed hungry caterpillars. Several people are needed to volunteer a few hours per week in June and July. Resilience fair — Mid-Columbia Center for Living and North Wasco County School District 21 are hosting the second annual Resilience Rally May 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for all North Wasco high school students. This event brings together healthcare providers and supports from the community and connects them directly with youth. “This is a fun filled day with activities, prizes, contacts, and resources so youth know where to turn in the community if they need support,” said a press release.
