Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was fined $57,222 by the NFL on Tuesday for spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott early in last week's season opener.

Carter, whose fine amounts to one missed game paycheck, was also issued a one-game suspension for his actions only six seconds into last Thursday's 24-20 home victory over Dallas.
