File photoWHITE SALMON — Seven players with at least two years of varsity experience bolster the 2025 Columbia High School (CHS) volleyball team.
The Bruins open their season Sept. 10 with a nonleague match at Class 4A Battle Ground (2-0) before jumping into the 1A Trico League season a day later with a home match against Kalama (7 p.m.). Columbia swept Battle Ground 3-0 in a nonleague match a season ago and split two conference matches against Kalama.
Columbia Coach Heidi Schultz’s team features four-year varsity players Bella Hamilton and Sara Miller, third-year players senior Kiana Chambers and junior Joella Posini, while junior Fiona Grabb, senior Olivia Allen and junior Julia Mullinix are on their second varsity stints. It’s an experienced roster, one that’s talented enough to boost the Bruins into upper echelon of the Trico League.
Outside hitters Miller and Chambers were honored by coaches in 2024 with honorable mention all-league status. Columbia finished tied for sixth in the eight-team Trico with a 4-13 record and the Bruins were 7-13 overall.
The varsity roster also includes junior Lola Marti and sophomore Mckena Carlock.
