Amber Glenn took the lead at the US Figure Skating Championships after a record score in the women's short program

Amber Glenn upstaged world champion Alysa Liu with a record score to take the lead after the women's short program at the US Figure Skating Championships in St Louis on Wednesday.

Glenn, who is bidding to make the US team for next month's Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics after missing out on Beijing four years ago, produced a near flawless performance to score a national record 83.05 points.
