A brave 87-year-old threw a burglar out of his house—after finding him sitting in his armchair.
Bill Lawson was targeted by brazen criminal Michael Dorrian, who targeted a series of sheltered housing complexes in Greenock, Scotland.
On the day of the theft, Bill recalls waking up to find his living room light on in March last year.
Bill found Dorrian sitting in his chair—so threw him out of his property.
Dorrian was jailed by Sheriff Anthony McGeehan at Greenock Sheriff Court.
Bill said: "I have a habit of leaving my door unlocked at night as the caregivers come in early in the morning.
"I was nearly sleeping. I saw the light on in the living room through the glass panel above the doors.

By Talker"I just went in and he was sitting there bold as brass.
"I said 'this is not your house' and threw him out.
"He tried to come back in again and looked at the nameplate on the door on his way out.
"I was shaking. I went back to bed and tried to sleep. I told the wardens the next day that I had an intruder in my house."
After he had thrown Dorrian out, Bill noticed that two watches which had been sitting on a table in the living room were missing.
He reported the theft to the police and officers thankfully managed to track down one of the items—a rose gold Citizen watch worth around $520.
Bill said officers told him that Dorrian had handed the watch into Cash Generator and received $26 in return.
The retiree was left very shaken after the incident and said he's very relieved that Dorrian has received a prison sentence.
Bill added: "He is an evil man and what he did is terrible. He seems to be targeting the elderly.
"It's not just me; there are other people he is preying on. I was getting worried about going to court and I am very relieved."
Sheriff McGeehan sentenced Dorrian to 20 months in prison for his crimes.
