THE GORGE — Mid-Columbia Community Action Council (MCCAC)is now scheduling appointments for all household types for the Dec. 1 opening date of its Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
“With winter approaching, there will be an increased need for our most vulnerable community members to keep their homes warm and safe throughout the season,” said a press release. “MCCAC’s utility assistance programs help qualified individuals and families stay current on their utility bills while allowing them to keep the lights on and heat running throughout the year.”
“One of MCCAC’s top priorities is to ensure that our community members are able to stay healthy and warm during the harsh winter months we experience in the Mid-Columbia region” MCCAC Executive Director Kenny LaPoint said.
MCCAC’s Household Utility Assistance team will be scheduling appointments for assistance at their main offices in The Dalles and Hood River. Additionally, MCCAC will be scheduling outreach appointments in the cities of Moro, Maupin and Cascade Locks.
