Here are the latest league bowling reports from Hood River’s Orchard Lanes:
Monday Night Industrial League:
On March 24, Mt. Hood BBQ won the 3rd round on the last night of the regular season with 152 points. Pat’s Pro Shop finished 2nd with 139.5 points.
The third-round win by Mt. Hood BBQ means they joined the first- and second-round winners, Randy’s Painting and The Crew as the top seeds in their unique bracket tournament that will decide the league champion in the next two weeks. Winning a round in the Industrial league earns a top seed in a match against a lower seed in the bracket tournament. That should be an advantage, but underdogs often prevail. The top eight teams with the most points won over the season qualify for the winners bracket. Here is the line-up for the first week of winners matches: No. 1 seed Mt. Hood BBQ vs. No. 8 seed Triple T’s; No. 2 seed Randy’s Painting vs. No. 7 seed The Rollers; No. 3 seed The Crew vs. No. 6 seed Ol’7-10; and No. 4 seed Pat’s Pro Shop vs. No. 5 seed Clear Cutters.
Here are the results from the first week of matches in the winners bracket on March 31: Mt. Hood BBQ beat Triple T’s, 18-7; Randy’s Painting beat The Rollers, 18.5-6.5; The Crew lost to Ol’7-10, 18-7; and Clear Cutters beat Pat’s Pro Shop, 15-10. In the final four matches next week, No. 1 seed Mt. Hood BBQ faces No. 6 seed Ol’7-10 and No. 2 seed Randy’s Painting bowls No. 5 seed Clear Cutters.

Star Bowler: Coby Henning for Decavo, 104 pins over average.
Wednesday Afternoon Senior League:
After the past two weeks of action, we now have quite a donnybrook on our hands that will hopefully be resolved next week, the last one in the second half. Currently, Rolling Pins and Cousins are tied for the lead in the second half with 34 wins. These two teams have been duking it out all season. Rolling Pins won the first half of the league. The seniors don’t have a roll-off at the end of the season to determine a champion; instead they are happy with half winners. So, if Cousins prevails next week they will become co-winners of the senior league; if not, Rolling Pins will be two time winners this season!
High scores on 3-26-2025: Rod Pratt for Gutt-er Done, 224, 212 games & 608 series; Paul Dethman for Cousins, 225, 206 games & 600 series; Matt Phillips for Rolling Pins, 222, 210 games; and Mick Sherrell for Jessie’s Team, 200 game.
High scores on April 2: Tony Teschner for Rice Krispies, 205 game; and Matt Phillips, 203 game.
Star bowler: Paul Dethman, 108 pins over average.
Wednesday Night Fraternal League:
With just two weeks to go in round three, Mt. Hood BBQ is running away in first place with 141 wins. Orchard Lanes is a distant second with 124 wins. It’s still possible for Orchard Lanes to surpass the Barbequers, but they better put the pedal to the metal! If they hang tough next week, in two weeks there is a position round so the Lanes crew will bowl head-to-head against the Grillers, a great opportunity for them to finish like Silky Sullivan!
High scores on March 26: Steve Silva for The Red Rockets, 299, 238 games and 753 series (Steve left a 10-pin on his last ball going for 300); Bill Pullum for Bloom Auto Body, 269 game and 674 series; John Helm for Ten in The Pit, 278 game and 658 series; Bryan Mason for Bloom Auto Body, 257 game; Jimbo Youtsey for The Red Rocket, 236 game.
High scores on 4-2-2025: Patrick Olson for Orchard Lanes, 279, 258 games & 736 series; Stan Pratnicki for Get Hu’sum BBQ, 257 game and 699 series; AJ Perdue for Ten in The Pin, 242 game and 674 series; Bill Pullum for Bloom Auto Body, 254 game and 671 series; Skip Whitley for Tres Psicos, 258 game; John Helm for Ten in The Pin, 236 game; Chad Mason for The Bowling Stones, 236 game; Ciena Brittle for The Bowling Stones, 235, 221 games; Jeremy Bloom for Bloom Auto Body, 235 game; and Josh Worth for Hood River Athletic Club, 235 game.
