Last week’s photo, according to stories we found in a July 15, 1966 edition of The Dalles Chronicle, showed Rodeo Queen Vicki Crone being crowned at “the Armory.” Making the announcement was Connie Gilpin, previous queen. Other princesses in the photo were Dichera Brace, left, and Elaine Kniesteadt. That years’ events, as mentioned on previous history pages, including a rodeo in The Dalles, a visit from a destroyer and a parade two miles long.
