THE DALLES — The Dalles workers saved an orphaned baby raccoon a few days ago, after a local found the tiny animal clinging to its deceased mother.

A worker from Pray Electric spotted the animal near a local’s home, and posted a photo to “The Dalles Happenings” Facebook page, where posters started coordinating resources. A city Public Works crew secured the baby raccoon and removed the mother’s body.
