HOOD RIVER — A favorite local event, Pie with the Mayor, is back.
On Saturday, April 27 at Pine Street Bakery, Mayor Paul Blackburn will invite the community from 1-2 p.m. for mingling and a slice of pie in a casual public setting. Formal processes like city council meetings and business hour audiences are accessible to the public, but Blackburn said there is an increasing struggle to get the attention of elected officials and policy-makes.
Since his first Pie with the Mayor gathering in 2015, Blackburn continues to foster this event in the hopes that locals come address him and their concerns in a comfortable, neutral space. As an elected representative, he wants to all to feel invited for conversation.
“The people of Hood River are very important to me, and I want to make sure there are plenty of opportunities for anyone who would like to talk with me to do so,” he said.
