Documentary explores fire history Sept. 24-25

THE GORGE — Oregon State University is partnering with Wasco County Forest Collaborative and Hood River Forest Collaborate to bring a short documentary exploring fire history research on the east side of Mount Hood and how it might inform future management to The Dalles and Hood River.

Participants will start with resource tables at 6 p.m., view the film “The Forest Keeps Its Own Record: Fire, science, and stewardship on the east side of Mount Hood” by Madison Washburn at 6:30 p.m., and a moderated panel and Q&A at 7 p.m.

The event will run Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Granada Theatre, 221 E. Second St., The Dalles, and Friday, Sept. 25 at Mt. Hood Town Hall, 6575 Highway 35, Mt. Hood-Parkdale.
