Habitat for Humanity program makes for safe, healthy homes

THE GORGE — Columbia Gorge Habitat for Humanity’s Healthy Homes Grant Program provides financial assistance to help homeowners maintain safe and healthy living environments. Owner occupied Oregon households earning 80% or below the area median in-come (AMI) may qualify for assistance.

Funds may be used to address climate and environmental hazards like air quality, mold, insulation, and ventilation; make accessibility improvements for disabled residents, such as ramps and structural modifications; and completing critical home repairs to improve the health and safety of occupants, like roofs, electrical upgrades, and plumbing.
