HOOD RIVER — Columbia Gorge CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will host its third annual Fall Family Run, presented by McDonald’s of the Gorge, on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Mark O. Hatfield West Trailhead in Hood River. The event brings the community together for a morning of running, walking, and supporting CG CASA's advocacy for local children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
The 5K begins at 9 a.m., followed by a one-mile jog/walk. Youth ages 17 and under participate for free. The event will also feature a costume contest for the best adult and child costumes, along with the announcement of the winner of Columbia Gorge CASA’s 2026 Playhouse Raffle, presented by Adventist Health Columbia Gorge Foundation and One-Line Professional Services.
“We’re excited to bring the community together for a fun event that directly supports the work of our CASA volunteers,” said Christopher Janetzko, Executive Director of Columbia Gorge CASA. “Every registration helps us continue providing trained, professionally supported CASA volunteers to advocate for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.”
Financial sponsors of this event include McDonald’s of the Gorge, Columbia Bank, A Kidz Dental Zone, Columbia River Insurance, Hoody’s Oil Change, NW Natural, and Poole Fruit Co.
Registration is open at runsignup.com/Race/OR/HoodRiver/CASARunforKids. The next price increase is Sept. 25 at 11:59 p.m., and participants who register by Sept. 19 are guaranteed a race shirt.
Columbia Gorge CASA serves children in Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman counties through trained community volunteers appointed by the court to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
