Hood BBQ squeaked by MTS, 13-12.

Tuesday Nite Mixed league (first half):

Congratulations to Gutter Dawgs (Jake Kenney, Jacob Begis, Helen Thurlow and Kyle Olsen) who won the first half of the Mixed league last week. Gutter Dawgs finished the half with 27.5 wins. C.P.R. and Team Nishi tied for second with 26 wins.

In last week’s key matches of the contenders that had a chance to win the first half:

Underdog Gutter Dawgs faced the fearsome Double A Orchards foursome, but the Dawgs had their day, as they say, beating the powerful Double A crew, 3-1. The Dawgs won the first two games, building up a 134 pin lead over Double A. They barely held on though, losing the third game by 105 pins, but that was good enough to take total pins by just 29 sticks. And that was the ball game as they say, nice bowling Dawgs!

Team Nishi needed to win three games from their opponent, Taco Tuesday in order to win the first half of the league. Winning three games can be a tall order for any team. And it proved to be too much for Team Nishi as the formidable Nishi quartet was only able to win one game from the underdog Taco Tuesday crew this time. Actually, looking closer at the game-by-game results, the match was really tight. Team Nishi won the first game by a whisker, a mere two pins better than Taco Tuesday. The Taco team took the second game by only 24 pins and the third game by just 21 pins. Nevertheless, those numbers were, of course, good enough for Taco time to win total pins by 43 sticks. How about some tasty tacos for everybody?
