This year’s Festival of Trees was the highest grossing event in the fundraiser’s history.
Contributed photoTHE DALLES — Mid-Columbia Health Foundation’s 17th annual Festival of Trees Gala & Auction, held Dec. 1 at The Civic Auditorium, netted more than $51,000 — the highest grossing event in the festival’s history.
Proceeds from the 2023 Festival of Trees will support the Celilo Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund, technology and equipment upgrades for local hospital and clinics, and the continued mission of the Mid-Columbia Health Foundation, said a press release.
A total of 18 donated and decorated trees were the cause of several bidding wars, facilitated by auctioneer Shawn Wilkinson. Four trees were donated in memory of loved ones.
“Each year the tree decorators astound me with their craftsmanship; they come to the Civic Auditorium with a blank tree and create masterpieces right in front of our eyes,” said MCHF Executive Director Amanda Evans. “We are thankful for everyone who donated a tree, silent auction item or their time and talent to help make this event possible.”
