On June 8, volunteers from Dog River Pet Supplies in Hood River closed up shop to travel to The Dalles to help paint the Columbia Gorge Humane Society building.
THE DALLES – On June 8, Dog River Pet Supplies, located in Hood River, closed up shop to volunteer at the Columbia Gorge Humane Society, and put a fresh coat of paint to the shelter’s exterior.
“On one of the hottest days of the year, the compassionate team from Dog River Pet Supplies in Hood River made an extraordinary decision: they closed their store to give back to the community in a big way,” said a press release, “Thanks to their efforts, every inch of our shelter received a much-needed fresh coat of paint. Their kindness didn’t stop with the paint — they brought energy, joy, and a deep commitment to animal welfare with them.”
According to the press release, Dog River Pet Supplies has been a long supporter of the animal community.
“We are incredibly grateful to the owners and staff of Dog River for their time, labor, and unwavering support. Your efforts have created a cleaner, more welcoming space for the animals in our care — and a more hopeful place for the people who come to adopt them,” said the press release.
