Cascade Singers and Friends Messiah performance in 2023.
Contributed photoTHE DALLES — The Dalles Cascade Singers and Friends are presenting the 2024 Christmas Messiah Concert on Saturday Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church ELCA in The Dalles, located at the corner of 10th and Union streets.
The 2023 Christmas Messiah drew more than 250 audience members from all over Oregon and Washington, and we are hoping to reach even more with the two performances.
This year we have a guest conductor, Colin Sheperd, who will be leading the performances. Colin is the staff pianist for the vocal and choir department at Portland State University. He is also a choir conductor and music director preparing Messiah choirs for the Oregon Symphony Orchestra.
Singers Anna Viemeister and Jeremy Griffin from New York, Samuel Varhan from Portland, and Rebecca Gooch from The Dalles are all returning as soloists.
The performance will be accompanied by an expanded orchestra from the Columbia River Gorge and Portland areas.
Cascade Singers and Friends Messiah performances are free and open to the public (donations gratefully accepted).
