GORGEous Music Events is a new performing arts organization in the Columbia River Gorge. They are offering “Best of Broadway, jazz and opera” on Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 341 N Main Ave, White Salmon.
The concert is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
Performances will be by All Jazz Considered, the well-known Hood River trio led by pianist Tim Mayer, soprano vocalist Rebecca Gooch from The Dalles, bass vocalist Christopher Cheek from Portland and pianist David Kelly from White Salmon.
“We are proud to offer a wide range of musical styles in the same program. You will hear beautiful Broadway show tunes from ‘Phantom of the Opera,’ ‘Oklahoma’ and ‘South Pacific’ along with an operatic aria by Verdi and a famous duet from Mozart’s opera ‘Don Giovanni.’ Jazz originals by Tim Mayer’s trio and classical piano selections by Brahms and Rachmaninov with David Kelly at the piano will round out the varied program,” read a press release.
