Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Charles “Chuck” John Loeffel, 76, passed away after a life defined by joy, connection, and positivity. He was born on Sept. 7, 1949, in Hood River, Oregon, to Orville and Juanita Loeffel. In his early years, his family moved to Portland, Oregon, where he formed many lifelong friendships. Chuck graduated from Wilson High School in 1967. He attended the University of Oregon and later completed his bachelor’s degree at Concordia University. On July 15, 1972, he married his beloved wife, Andrea, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years.
Chuck built a dedicated career of more than 30 years with Clean Water Services. In 1980, they welcomed their daughter, Brooke, who brought him immense pride and joy. Known for his friendly spirit, positive outlook, and love of sports, Chuck left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a special gift for bringing people together and making them feel valued.
He is survived by his wife Andrea, daughter Brooke, and two cherished grandchildren. Reflecting on his life, Chuck shared, “I lived a life filled with JOY!” — a sentiment that perfectly captures how he lived.
A celebration of life will be held April 10 at 4:30 p.m. at the Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro, Oregon. All who knew Chuck are welcome. Guests are encouraged to wear yellow, green, or University of Oregon attire in his honor.
