WHITE SALMON — In order to complete the next phase of the Transmission Main Replacement project, the City of White Salmon will completely close a portion of State Route 141, day and night during the work week, beginning April 13.
Closure limits stretch from the intersection of Alt SR 141 and SR 141 to the top of Bald Mountain, approximately milepost 4.69 to 3.82. Work is estimated to end on May 22, and the road will open to regular traffic on weekends.Â
During the closure, through traffic will not be allowed within the project area, and drivers will need to use alternate routes. Clearly marked detours and traffic control will be in place to help guide travel and maintain safety.Â
Emergency vehicles and school buses will be allowed through the work zone to maintain critical services and access.
In a press release, the city acknowledged that the closure will impact daily routines, and appreciated the public’s patience as this essential work moves forward. These improvements are an important step in strengthening the reliability of the municipal water system for the long term, the city said.Â
Updates will be provided through the City’s website, Voyent Alert system, and local media outlets.
