The Hood River Valley High Eagles baseball team has enjoyed tremendous success this season and they’re hoping that it will continue as they seek to win the Intermountain Conference Championship for the first time since 2017.

Following an 8-3 Intermountain Conference loss at home May 4 to a Crook County Cowboy squad that had an 0-9 record prior to the game, The Dalles High Riverhawks baseball team probably felt somewhat embarrassed.

The Crook County girls and Ridgeview’s and Pendleton’s boys head into Saturday’s Intermountain Conference district track and field meet as the team favorites, while a number of athletes from The Dalles and Hood River Valley should figure in the individual mix.

The level of competition increased last week for the Hood River Valley boys golf team and the Eagles responded with their lowest 18-hole, par-72 round of the season.

The Hood River Eagles boys lacrosse team continued to be on a roll, taking down one of the Columbia Conference’s best teams with a massive overtime 12-11 win against the Oregon Episcopal School Aardvarks Friday April 30. The Eagles traveled to Portland for a top-of-conference showdown with this OES team that has had the Eagles number in the last few years, but a few magical last minute offensive plays turned out to bring it home.
