Columbia High’s volleyball team attained a season goal by reaching the district playoffs, but that’s where the Bruins’ run ended Saturday.
The Bruins lost to the Trico League’s runner-up, La Center, at the District 4 tournament at King’s Way High School in Vancouver. Columbia had advanced to Saturday’s second round at district by winning one of two matches Nov. 3 at Castle Rock.

The No. 7 ranked Hood River Valley High Eagles boys soccer team had the No. 1-ranked offense (4.5 goals per game average); they were No. 1 in the Intermountain Conference (8-0-2); they were No. 1 in the hearts of their fans; and they had those fans behind them with home-field advantage in the playoffs.
