Peddler Ali Hakim (Bob Fox, left), finds himself at the edge of a literal shotgun wedding thanks to an adoring Ado Annie (Anne Marie Goodman) and her stern father, Andrew Carnes (Bruce Ludwig) in “Oklahoma!” The musical opens this weekend at Hood River Middle School. Lynda Dallman directs the Rodgers and Hammerstein show for Plays for Non-Profits. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, or groups of 10 or more, at Waucoma Books, online at showtix4u.com, or at the door. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., Aug. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, and 20. The show runs just over two hours with intermission, and is suitable for all ages. Proceeds benefit Next Door Inc. and Columbia Gorge Dance Academy. The ballet sequence and several other dance numbers feature Academy dancers.
