Laraway Collection: Glass plate negatives taken by W.F. Laraway between 1895 and 1928, donated by his descendants.

The last mystery showed a photo from Hood River history museum, taken in the 1890s by W. F. Laraway. It shows a mysterious railway depot, which experts told the museum may actually be in Livingston, Montana, not Hood River at all. Oops! Okay, we promise this next one is local!

In fact, it’s from Petersburg School, just east of The Dalles, and it was taken in the 1980s. These children seem to be having great fun, watching earthworms crawl across the floor, in a sports gym of sorts, one that looks to be designed for creepy-crawlies. What’s going on here?
