Urban Tellers offers an experience that makes people feel a part of something, something good, connected. This September, the people of the Columbia River Gorge will have a chance to experience Urban Tellers for themselves. The two-hour production will take place at the Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River, one night only, on September 27, at 7:30 p.m.
2014 marks the 10th anniversary of Portland Story Theater and this Urban Tellers Invitational is a special show that not only features outstanding storytellers who have worked with Portland Story Theater before, like Leigh Hancock of White Salmon, but also features the founders: Lawrence Howard, Lynne Duddy, and Penny Walter. Over the years, Portland Story Theater has perfected an approach to storytelling as solo performance art that is filling a niche.
This is a place where people gather to hear the real, true stories of complete strangers. And something magical happens, something beyond entertainment.
Advance tickets are $15 and are available for purchase online at www.columbiaarts.org.
