Best of Gorge winners names

“For over 30 years we’ve been showcasing the Gorge for visitors and our 4th annual Best of the Gorge contest was extremely insightful with a combination of new winners and past favorites taking the top prizes. We asked visitors to tell us about their favorite experiences in the Gorge and the voice of the visitor is what you’ll see here,” said Jeff Jones, editor of the Gorge Guide.

The categories range from best restaurant food to best pet daycare. Winners received the most votes in their category. Several categories featured repeat winners.

In the 39 categories, only a few were located on the Washington side of the Gorge. The remainder came from Hood River. Those on the Washington shore earning “Best of” include: Best Bed & Breakfast, Carson Ridge Private Luxury Cabins, Carson; Best Brewpub, Everybody’s Brewing, White Salmon; Best Restaurant Atmosphere, The Glass Ion Restaurant & Gallery, Goldendale; Best Pizza, Solstice Wood Fire Café, Bingen; Best Windsurfing Site, The Hatchery, Underwood; Best Hiking Trail, Catherine Breek; Best Mountain Biking Trail, Klickitat Trail, Lyle; and Best Fitness Facility, Sole to Soul Health Center, Goldendale.

Voting for 2014 ‘Best of the Gorge’ recipients is now underway.
