Ann Harris — Founder of Black in the Gorge, a leader of the OSU Strong People fitness for aging program, and and a retired OSU Extension faculty. Ann has devoted her career and retirement to building inclusive community connections, empowering health and wellness, and creating spaces where diversity and resilience thrive.
Leslie Tamura — Chair of the Columbia Gorge Fruit Growers Association, respected leader in the agricultural community, Leslie has championed collaboration, sustainability, and innovation in the region’s fruit industry, supporting both growers and the local economy. A powerful role model for women in agriculture.Â
Tonya DeHart — Director of The Sunshine Club, a lively daytime activity program for people with dementia, and offering respite and support for families. Through Tonya’s compassion and leadership, including securing a permanent building, The Sunshine Club has become a model throughout Oregon.Â

The chapter is currently seeking applications for its annual Live Your Dream education and training awards for women, which can be used to offset associated costs with higher education or additional skills training. Applications are available at soroptimist.org (click on Live Your Dream Awards) or by contacting Belmore at 541-380-2124. The application deadline is Nov. 15.
