Representatives from The Home Depot and Adventist Health Columbia Gorge celebrated the reopening of Celilo House with a ribbon-cutting on April 24.
Contributed photoTHE DALLES — Representatives from The Home Depot and Adventist Health Columbia Gorge celebrated the reopening of Celilo House with a ribbon-cutting on April 24 following upgrades funded by The Home Depot Foundation and the Adventist Health Columbia Gorge Foundation.
Celilo House provides temporary housing for patients who live far from The Dalles while they are receiving treatment at Celilo Cancer Center.
“Following closure during the pandemic, the house needed upgrades and repairs to reopen,” said a press release. “In stepped The Home Depot with gifts of fencing, decking, new kitchen appliances, landscaping and more totaling almost $5,000.”
In addition to the grant, Team Depot volunteers gave their time and expertise to repair, paint and install the upgrades, said the press release.

New bedroom furnishings, living room furniture and other home essentials were provided by the Celilo House Fund, one of the many fundraising initiatives of Adventist Health Columbia Gorge Foundation. Donations to the fund come primarily from Adventist Health employees and are used for upkeep and supplies for the Celilo House.
