A 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and recovery of the ensuing onside kickoff midway through the second quarter last Friday sparked La Center to a 50-28 SWW 1A Trico Division victory over host Columbia High, in CHS’s 2009 homecoming game.

The long runback by Dillon Kelly stole whatever momentum the Bruins hoped to build with a defensive stand—they had just gotten within 22-15 on a 26-yard touchdown run by Jenson Ladiges with 6:33 remaining in the first half—and the onside kick recovery kept Columbia’s offense from responding right away.
