Columbia High School woodshop students have a variety of recently completed projects on display in the foyer of the White Salmon Valley Community Library.
The decorative and utilitarian pieces include a cutting board, a pendulum clock, drumsticks, boxes, pen and pencil sets, and more.
The exhibit will continue through the month of February.
"Woodshop students gain a wide range of skills that prepare them to enter the job market," explains CHS Woodshop teacher, John Hadley. "From safety and equipment operation to conceptualization of abstract concepts and working cooperatively with others, these students are on their way to successful careers. Woodshop students learn the art of goal setting, sequencing and attention to detail. Some students leave CHS as highly skilled woodworkers."
In addition to completing projects, woodshop students view career presentations from trade schools, two-year technical programs and trade unions to help them make important career decisions.
Other hands-on classes offered by CHS include Computer Technology, Metal Shop, Horticulture, Natural Resources, Journalism Business and Computer Graphics.
The woodshop display may be seen during regular library hours.
