Woodland and Castle Rock outscored Columbia High, 14-1, in Trico Division girls soccer matches last week.
The Bruins trailed the Beavers, 2-0, at halftime before falling 3-0 in Woodland Oct. 21.
At Castle Rock last Thursday, the Rockets exploded for 11 goals in a 10-goal victory over the Bruins.
Volleyball:
Columbia High's jayvee squad scored a pair of 2-1 victories last week to improve its record to 8-5.
The Junior Bruins won at Ilwaco, 25-20, 19-25, 15-4 on Oct. 22 and at home against Castle Rock on Oct. 21, 20-25, 25-22, 15-10.
Highlights against Ilwaco included Brooke Hathaway's 8-for-8 serving and 3-for-3 hitting efforts. She also had two digs.
Ashley Poole and Dani Gilderhus each completed 4-of-4 serves and had two and four digs, respectively.
Ashley Neff went 4 for 4 in attacks, and Erin McCutcheon was 3 for 3. Kara Woosley, Jenny Pulido and Jessica Kealaiki had three digs apiece.
Versus Castle Rock, the Junior Bruins completed 89 percent of their serves and 97 percent of their attacks, and tallied 24 digs in 36 chances.
Team leaders in serving were Gilderhus (8/8), Neff (7/7) and Woosley (18/21).
The top attackers were Neff (12/12) and Alycia Rohwer (4/4). Standouts on defense included Neff (6 of 7 digs) and Rohwer (5 of 10 digs).
Football:
Goldendale remained winless on the season, losing at home to Cle Elum last Friday, 40-14. The Timberwolves dropped to 0-3 in the West Division of the 1A South Central Athletic Conference and 0-8 overall.
They travel to White Swan this Friday in pursuit of their first win, then host second-ranked Zillah in their season finale on Nov. 7.
Snow Sports:
The 24th annual Honda SkiFever and Snowboard Show -- the Northwest's largest winter sports event and sale -- takes place Thursday-Sunday at the Portland Expo Center.
Show hours are 1-9 p.m. Thursday, noon-9 Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 10-6 Sunday.
Cost of admission is $9 for adults and $4.50 for kids ages 6-12. As an added bonus, each paid attendee will receive two free lift tickets to Mount Hood Ski Bowl and Timberline.
This year's show will feature more than 400 booths, including those belonging to top ski and snowboard retailers and manufacturers, and best of the west resort operators.
