Paul deLay Band appears this Friday in a performance at the Gorge Room at Hood River Inn. A large dance floor and a no-host bar set the party atmosphere.
This Friday's event is an extension of the music booking provided by Geno Michaels for the Riverside Grill.
"Paul's recent performances at the Grill as a special guest have met with so much enthusiasm, we thought we'd bring up his whole band and let him stretch out a little more. This is definitely a must-see for blues fans or anyone looking for a great night out on Friday," said Michaels.
The show starts at 9 p.m.. Admission is $11 at the door, and is restricted to those over 21 years old.
deLay’s latest recording, Heavy Rotation (2001), is his first release since 1999's deLay Does Chicago, is a reunion with Paul's longtime associates Louis Pain on Hammond B-3 organ, Peter Dammann on guitar and Dan Fincher on tenor saxophone. deLay and his band make no attempt to crossover, nor do they play by the rules. Heavy Rotation is a masterpiece that clearly reveals a unique artist in his prime; unquestionably one of the greatest and most innovative writers, singers, and instrumentalists playing blues today.
Heavy Rotation climbed to #1 on the Living Blues magazine radio charts, and has bowered in the top ten for four months.
