Couple mark 60th anniversary

The couple met at the Hood River SDA Church, where they were very active members before moving to White Salmon a few years ago.

They were married on April 10, 1944, in Biloxi, Miss., where Hal was then stationed as a medic during World War II.

The couple's family includes Maurice (deceased), James (deceased), Julius and his wife Barbara, three grandsons (James II, Jesse and Galilee), and one great-granddaughter.

At 93 and 81, they are still active in their church and where they live -- Beth-el Shalom.

Hal enjoys woodworking, quilt making, cooking and pulling weeds. Ellouise is well known as a historian, for her love of genealogy, and for her gift of hospitality.
