A big first half by Hockinson prevented Columbia High's boys junior varsity basketball team from attaining the 10-win plateau here Feb. 8.
The Hawklings scored 21 points in the first quarter and 16 in the second to lead 37-15 at the intermission on the way to a 68-46 victory.
Kyle Earls went 4 for 4 from the foul line and led the Junior Bruins (9-6) with 14 points.
Thomas Jeter added 10 for Columbia, which entered this week with two chances to get its 10th win.

Thomas Jeter and Brett Rawding dominated inside for the Junior Bruins in their Feb. 1 victory over the Wildcats jayvee.
Jeter scored 16 points and Rawding had 10 for CHS, which pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring La Center, 18-3, for a 32-15 halftime advantage.
