Dolores (Raudzis) Monnie of The Dalles, Oregon, passed away peacefully March 23, 2026, at the age of 93.
Dolores was born on Aug. 17, 1932, in Sobieski, Minnesota, to Frank and Victoria Raudzis. She grew up in Browerville, Minnesota, where she was a high school cheerleader and crowned Queen of Todd County Dairy Days. After graduation, she moved to Minneapolis, where she enjoyed many adventures with friends, including a memorable trip to Cuba.
On Aug. 31, 1955, Dolores married James Monnie of Browerville. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage and raised five children: Thomas, Victoria, Marie, David and Patricia. Over the years, life took them across the country, living in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, Alaska, Lake Oswego, Oregon, Stevenson, Washington, and finally The Dalles, Oregon.
Dolores had a deep love for crafting. She was a talented seamstress, quilter, and painter. Her family especially cherished her delicious cookies, which she always kept on hand. Most of all, Dolores had a deep love for people and a gift for sharing laughter. She was known for her sharp wit and playful sense of humor, bringing joy to everyone around her. She took great pride in her Polish heritage. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her beloved husband James, and their son Thomas.
Dolores is survived by her son David of Beaverton, Oregon; Victoria (George) Jackson of Fort Worth, Texas; Marie (Jon) Bailey of The Dalles; and Patricia Barfoot of Polson, Montana. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Beau, Sean, Andrea, Isaac, Emily, Monica, Thomas, Braden and Nina; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the amazing dedicated caregivers at The Springs Memory Care in The Dalles for the love, compassion and kindness they have shown Dolores over the past several years.
