Michael McConnville was active, as well, accounting for 15 points, six assists and three steals. Jeremy Moss added 13 points, a team-high nine rebounds and five assists, and Jeromie Mason contributed 10 points, four assists and four rebounds.

The effort, which included building a 39-11 halftime lead, earned the praise of Vandals Coach Kirk Huwe, who said, "We played one of our best games of the year."

McConville got the ball rolling for Klickitat, canning three 3-pointers in the Vandals' 23-point first quarter. He finished with a 5-for-8 mark from long range, where the team was 7 for 13 overall.

Defensively, Klickitat held Bickleton's top gun, Cody Loomis, to 11 points and the Pirates to nine points or less in every quarter.

La Salle 56, at Lyle/Wishram 43:

The Cougars won the second half but couldn't come all the way back from a 34-15 halftime deficit in last Friday's GCB 2B Division encounter with the Lightning.

Lyle/Wishram outscored La Salle, 28-22, after the halftime intermission thanks to the play of Mike Murphy, Adam Snyder and Mike Eiesland.

Murphy shared game-scoring honors with La Salle's Taylor Cliett--each scored 20 points--and had 11 rebounds, five blocks and four steals, while Snyder notched 11 points and Eiesland collected 10 rebounds.

At La Salle 59, Klickitat 36:

When other schools were cancelling games because of winter conditions, Klickitat managed to get over Satus Pass to Yakima for its scheduled matchup with the Lightning.

The game, however, quickly got away from the Vandals. The Lightning used defensive pressure at the outset to force turnovers and create a 20-4 lead after one quarter of play.

"It was a physical game," Vandals Coach Kirk Huwe noted. "Fifty-eight free throws were shot on the night."

Klickitat attempted 35 free throws and made 18 in a game in which it converted only 9-of-38 shots from the field (0 for 11 from 3-point range) and committed 23 turnovers.

Levi Sanchey paced Klickitat with 12 points and seven rebounds. Matt Brewer and Jeromie Mason each scored six and combined for seven rebounds.

At Sunnyside Christian 56, Trout Lake/Glenwood 28:

The Eagle Mustangs fell behind, 30-9, by halftime of last Thursday's GCB game and couldn't catch up.

Donnon Kavanagh scored eight points and Alex Whitefield had seven for the Eagle Mustangs, whose best quarter was the third when they scored 10 points.

Joel Koopmans' 17 points spearheaded the Knights' attack.

Lyle/Wishram 56, at Three Rivers Christian 40:

Joe Campbell scored 15 points and Mike Eiesland had 10 to lead the Cougars to the Jan. 22 non-league win in Kelso.

Lyle/Wishram took control of the rematch in the second quarter, outscoring the host Eagles, 17-6, and taking a 32-18 halftime lead. Its advantage after three quarters was 47-29.

In the final issue, a balanced scoring effort made the difference for the Cougars.

Mike Murphy and Henry Matai each netted eight points and leading scorer Adam Snyder tallied six on a night nine Cougars got into the scoring column.
