TD comes sixth at Oregon City cross country meet

The meet included 27 schools (Class 1A through 6A), including the 4A Riverhawks, who scored 105 points in a tight competition for fourth place. Fourth-place Westview of Beaverton had 103 points and Lakewood (WA.) scored 104 for fifth. Hermiston won the meet, which featured 19 scoring teams (of at least five finishing runners).

Contreras was second in the 5,000-meter varsity boys race in 15 minutes, 43 seconds, four seconds behind winner Jaysen Rodriguez, a sophomore from Hermiston. Lemann ran a lifetime best of 15:55 — a personal record by 41 seconds.

The Dalles girls were led by sophomore Ruby Jaimes Mora, who was 38th in 22:13. Her time was a personal best by almost two minutes. The Dalles was seventh in the girls team standings.
