HOOD RIVER — District co-champion Hood River Valley had six of its football players honored statewide by a vote of Class 5A coaches for their play this past season.
The Eagles, who garnered 10 of the 29 first-team 2025 all-league football selections, had more than half of those players tabbed for the Oregonian/Oregon Live all state team.
The Eagles, who finished tied along with Gresham and Milwaukie atop the eight-team Special District 1 (6-1 records), had one first team, all state player in senior Bam Layna, the District 1 co-offensive player of the year. Layna also was a second team pick at linebacker, and teammate Jack Miller was a second-team choice on the defensive line. Junior Milo Bielen earned a spot on the all-state second team for his play on the offensive line.
Bielen was a third team choice on the 5A all-state defensive line. Senior Emory Croke, who shared district co-offensive linemen of the year honors with Bielen, was a third team offensive line selection. Also on third team was senior defensive back, Talon-Quinn Britt. Senior tight end Nick Tuttle earned honorable mention.
Hood River finished 8-2 overall and qualified for the 5A state playoffs for a school-record fourth successive season.
