Pendleton tops The Dalles, 35-13

THE DALLES — The Dalles High School football team essentially faces must-win situations in its final two regular season games in order to qualify for the Class 4A state playoffs.

The Riverhawks (3-4 overall, 1-1 Special District 5) lost 35-13 on Oct. 17 at Pendleton and are now tied with Pendleton for third place in the five-team league. The Dalles plays at home on Oct. 24 against first place La Grande (3-4, 2-0), and is at second place Baker (2-5, 2-1) in its regular season finale on Oct. 31. The top three District 5 teams earn automatic berths in the 16-team 2025 state playoffs which begin Nov. 7. The Dalles last qualified for the playoffs in 2019, when the Riverhawks reached the state semifinals.
