William (Bill) Russell was born Jan. 1,1961, at The Dalles General Hospital in The Dalles, Oregon. He passed away June 18, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Bill was the third child born to Jack and Ardelle Russell. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. He graduated from The Dalles High School, class of 1979. He served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps and was discharged. He passed away at the Indianapolis Veterans Hospital. He was a lifelong sports fan, cheering his favorites, the Dallas Cowboys, Nascar, and the Oregon Ducks.
He was proceeded in death by great-grandparents, grandparents and parents, all of The Dalles, and daughter Jackie in Kansas.
He is survived by two sons, Willie John and Joshua (addresses unknown); sister Karen Russell Kulvi (Paul) of Bonney Lake, Washington; Doug S. Russell of The Dalles; three cousins and their families; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Per his request, there was no service. He is buried at Marion National Cemetery, in Marion, Indiana.
